CV, I've rebuilt my Scott 3200 because I, too, thought it should handle a little better. WRONG!!! I put all new parts in it and it didn't make one bit of differance. But now I know the tail wheel is good! I wrote it off as just one of those things! I'm really glad to hear you still have your Cub. Li...

When I first started taxiing my 172TD, I noticed it wasn't quite as responsive as my C120. When I went to pick up the tail, I realized why! It's HEAVY!!! It does require a little braking to get that first turn, but after it's rolling, it takes full rudder. I try NOT to use my brakes whenever possibl...

Very nice plane! I'm based at Taunton with my 172TD and got a chance to poke my head in that 170 while it was all opened up. The guys that did the inspection are very, very meticulous. You were in good hands! Nice shot of you guys in the plane with all those cranberries in the background. Will be fo...

They're all great planes. They can get a little 'pricey' too. The old straight tail 172 is still fairly reasonable, and makes one heck of a plane when it's converted to conventional gear! So if you're looking for a re-build, don't over-look that old 172!

I've got a '56 172 converted with Bolens gear. Handles perfect on the ground. Very little braking needed - 3 point or wheel landings. But I did have an old taildragger before this one that used to like zig-zagging all over the runway 'til it slowed down. What I did may not be approved, but... I LIGH...

The way I see it, if the tanker trucks, Fed-Ex, UPS, USPS, corporate business's, ect.., can conduct their business on all the available roadways, why should General Aviation be penalized and pay for airspace and affiliates just to bring the cost down for the corporations that make money using them??...

Had 6 new ECI's installed on my o300 last August. Have been using mineral oil since. Going with this, I highly recommend their product. Doing the research, I found there's good and bad with all the manufacturers. My friend had the head blow off his Millenium after a couple hundred hours, and another...

Here's a link to a guy who has done this. http://www.taildraggers.com/default.aspx?niteflyr

His name is Alan Quackenbush and he has a web page about his conversion. It's a Fravel conversion. I had emailed him when I was considering converting, and he came right back with good info!

Hello Doug, I'm based at Taunton. Just bought a hangar so now it's finally inside. My cousin Jim keeps his 185 at Mansfield. My wife and I fly with the Sunday breakfast club at Mike DuPonts' American Aero. Always looking for more planes! We have a blast going to the Vineyard, Nantucket, Chatam, P-to...
