Re: Alaska bound.....

Thanks again everybody. I'm glad I asked for suggestions because you guys have come up with a few things I haven't thought of. I thought I had all my charts together but then read Dave's old post and he referred to the Canadian Airport / Facility directory. It had never crossed my mind that I might ...

Re: Alaska bound.....

How long are you planning to be gone and where in AK are you thinking of going? I'm planning ten days or so to get there, give or take a day or two. I have a condo in Anchorage so that is the destination. Due to some creative scheduling around some vacation time, I won't have to be back in Atlanta ...

Re: Alaska bound.....

Thanks everybody! I'm taking notes. Geez, I can't believe I haven't even thought of bug repellant! Thanks for that reminder, blueldr. I've also heard the Listerine stories but think I'll look for the proven stuff. I'm taking your suggestion too, Dave, and will get some cheap head nets. I'm familiar ...

Hi everybody, My brother-in-law, Robert McCann (aka "Push"), and I will be leaving Western North Carolina around the 6th of June for our trip to Alaska. My tentative plan is to initially make our way to Great Falls, MT and cross the border into Lethbridge. Subject to change due to the weat...

Re: Bolt Kit for a 170

As a matter of interest, ... While my airplane was at Del's (aka "wingnut") for other maintenance, he noticed that the hardware attaching my wing's rear spar to their carry-throughs was incorrect (and incorrectly oriented) As a follow up, while my airplane was at Del's he also found some ...

Here is a pic for comparison. That's a 31" Bushwheel next to a Michelin 8:00x6.

And if Del could control the weather as well as he performs maintenance, we could get that thing out of his hanger and try it out! It's been one line of thunderstorms after another.....

Re: Lightspeed Aviation Product Support

I have two of the Zulus and have been very happy with them. (Although, I can't find one of them and am assuming I left it in the airplane at Del's shop in Mena. Perhaps Del can confirm this for me.) I chose them after talking to a friend of mine in Alaska who has tried many models of many brands in ...

Re: Wingnut in Mena

I have received an email from Del and he said he and his family are all ok. He indicated that the airport had little or no damage but other areas are devastated.

Re: My Grandson's first flight

Hi Miles,

Yes, I'm in sunny Georgia, right down the road from Carrolton. This morning's flight was from Falcon Field (KFFC), Peachtree City, Georgia.

Harrison and I had a great time. Even my daughter, Holly, who is a bit of a nervous flyer, enjoyed it. (She was the official photographer.)
