I thought I would pursue this with Transport Canada, TC have approved me to do so and therefore eliminating the requirement to install the original pump, manifold, two fuels, and a fuel pressure gauge. My rag wing #18109 is registered as manufactured in 1947. There is no date of manufacture on the data plate.

Check that the new coax braid is connected at both ends. You could be getting RF into the mic audio circuit.

Serial no 18109 . Figure 46. There was the wrong size scat tube (too large) with wire removed and it was kinked. We fixed it with a piece of 2" scat today. I will see how it works, next time I fly. What a cramped place to try to work.

'48 Cabin Heat
My '48 has very poor Cabin heat due to crimped scat tube between firewall and vent. Has anyone tried removing this scat tube and letting the warm air go where it will? Any reason not to try this?

Are the 206 gas caps a direct replacement; or is there a modification required?
