Re: Electric Oil Temp/Pressure Gauge
None of the other "Aeroquip" lines in the acc. section have fire shield on them.Does this mean I got to go back to SPRUCE again today? ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: Electric Oil Temp/Pressure Gauge
If a frog had wings...........in case of a total electrical failure you could prolly get some where to gitter on the ground before you lost oil pressure, fuel pressure (in case you had installed an electric fuel pressure gauge to get the fuel line out of the cabin) & eng. power (in case of an el...

Re: Brake disc / Wheel corrosion
All the emphisis on heat resistance must come from jet plane exrerence.28 years of flying a 170 into & out of the shortest & roughest fields outside of Alaska & the great north west & never used enough brake to get anything even close to hot! I use regular rattle can paint to keep th...

Re: Safety Item: Resetting Circuit Breakers/Fuses
P.S. The point being that that 60 amp breaker going to the alt never "popped". If it had been a fuse I am confident that it would have "blown" before that wire was fried.I also am pretty sure that if I hadn't turned the master switch off that there would have been more damage to ...

Re: Safety Item: Resetting Circuit Breakers/Fuses
I think I said that I think fuses are safer than circuit breakers, no big deal ,just an opinion anyhow. :D My 170B has the original fuse holder panel under the main panel & they are difficult to replace while standing on the ground & reaching in from the outside of the airplane much less whi...

Re: Safety Item: Resetting Circuit Breakers/Fuses
Fuses are for the most part safer than circuit breakers.(IMHO) Circuit breakers that have been in place for years without cycling could become stuck or coroded & fail to unseat in time to do what they are intended to do which is protect the circuit & in turn the vessel or structure in which ...

What a wonderful lady she is too! Had the opportunity to meet her in the late 80's or early 90's while operating a DC3 in conjunction with Kalitta Flying Service out of Morristown.I doubt there was a day went by while I was there that she wasn't airborne with students, weather permitting.Seemed as i...
