Extended baggage 170A

G'day everyone, Having recently done some airplane camping with my six year old son, I have come to the conclusion that more baggage space would be nice to free up the back seat so I can bring my daughter along as well. I have searched the forum and the web regarding extended baggage mods. I am awar...

Re: Photo Album

Oz502man, did you land on the gravel road just for the picture? Looks like a tight squeeze. At least the prop is above the grass. Good picture. Hi n3833v, It is a farm track through a wheat field near the airstrip I am based at. It is about 400m from the fence at one end to the trees at the other. ...

Re: Vertical Stab Cessna logo on '55

Check these out... http://www.cessna170.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=8337&start=15#p74873 They can be resized or edited as required and cut from vinyl paint mask. These images are all traces from the pictures in those posts so I can't guarantee the accuracy, but they will be pretty close. ...

Re: Aileron Rigging

Mit, I have just been through this myselfon my A model. I found an a post (in the maintenance library section I think) with an extract from the 170 book. I decribes using 4 an6 bolts with the head ground flat on one side. The bolts should be placed in the slot in the bellcrank adjacent to the travel...

I was today quoted $732 ea from the Australian Cessna agent. 8O I told him I wanted a price for one bearing not for a box of bearings! He went on to tell me what a good price it was given the strong Aus dollar.

Re: 'cessna' and '170' image in paint layout

Hi Bruce, The vector art is published as curves in PDF. This means it is still a vector image. Not sure about AI (I use Corel x4), if I open a new file in corel then import the pdf it retains its vector qualities. As for the font, yes it is an outline of a similar font - not a trace of the logo imag...

Re: 'cessna' and '170' image in paint layout

Thank you to everyone who posted pictures of the various logos. I have now digitised the logos and they are attached here as pdf files. Any printer should be able to open these files, manipulate the vector art as required and cut a vinyl sticker or paint mask. *PLEASE NOTE* 1. The dimensions will no...

Re: Vernier mixture control

You didn't ask me, but I think a vernier mixture control on a carburetor is like measuring your backyard with a micrometer. The vernier's capability of accurate control is wasted on this carburetor. If you simply hate that spring-lock mixture control, I'd recommend the ACS ratchet type as a minor a...

Re: Another Aviation Legend Passes

All to often these days, the word legend is thrown around and used to describe ordinary people. In Lelands case there is no better word to descibe him. It would be fair to say that he alone has done more for the advancement of aerial agriculture over the years than any other. His vision, drive and d...

George, Thanks for the picture. You have no idea how many times I have looked at that picture before and never noticed those details.
