Re: Oil Sump Corrosion
I've got a 5 bolt sump from an O300C engine off of a 1963 C172 that had a leak. Thinking of sending it out for repair just to have a spare. What pics would you like?

The night before 9-11-2001 I was in PIT getting ready to depart to ITH (Ithaca, NY) We were running late and the gate agent told me we had 10 pax that were landing on another flight in a few minutes. We were the last flight out to ITH that night and I decided to wait for them. 20 minutes later we go...

Re: Y’all running 100LL or Mogas? O-300
Here in the southeast corner of New Hampshire there are no gas stations with ethanol free gas. There used to be one just across the border in Maine but the Gov of Maine dictated some years ago that only gas with ethanol will be sold to vehicles in Maine. However 2 airports within 20 miles sell Mogas...

Re: Trim Setting for Takeoff
I have a 172D model. The trim will vary depending upon loading. I find it is different between the back seat empty or full and depending upon how much baggage you have.

Re: Stall Warning system problem
I just had the same problem in my 172D. Moving the vane on the ground made the AI happy when doing the annual but it would not work in the air. I tried spraying the vane with LPS2 and that took care of the problem.

Re: Carb Ice
My experience with sticking exhaust valves is it happens when the engine is cold. Sometimes called 'morning sickness' along with other things not fit for print in this family forum. One thing about a sticking exhaust valve is it will vibrate! It seems that it knocks out one cylinder and a neighborin...
