Re: Max Voltage regulator output
Wow, so much discussion over a few tenths of a volt! Who would've thought? Sounds like it's not the end of the world if I operate for a few more hours at my current setting before I get the opportunity to adjust it down a hair. But I will tweak it down slightly when I get the chance. In retros...

Max Voltage regulator output
What is the MAX recommended voltage regulator output? I have a Plane Power alternator conversion, which includes their solid-state regulator. Currently, I'm seeing 14.8V in cruise flight, which sounds a bit high to me. The instructions for regulator adjustment on their website show that typical outp...

need pics - battery box & drain tube
Can someone please post a picture of the underside of your battery box, including the drain tube assembly? Mine currently has no tube and I suspect I'm missing at least one or two other components that are hard to make out in the parts manual. We're looking to build or source the correct stuff for m...

Bowman Field pic
Flew to Bowman Field (Louisville, KY) yesterday. They have a beautiful old terminal building still on-site with a really nice restaurant inside. Thought it made a nice back-drop for a pic of Ol' "One Seventy".

Does the EC-539 sealing compound go by another name? Google and A/C Spruce searches haven't been very helpful.

Re: corrosion hole in firewall
It is galvanized or aluminized steel. You might be amazed to know that there is a company who sells all sorts of aircraft stuff (including galvanized sheet steel) named "Aircraft Spruce" I know them well, and I'm sure they'll be happy to take my money once more... I'm putting toget...

corrosion hole in firewall
I did an oil change on my bird yesterday w/ my A&P handy and we noticed that corrosion from the battery has eaten a small hole in the firewall near the corner of my battery box. He's sent me on a mission to determine what the C170 experts would recommend as an appropriate fix so that we'll be re...

Re: Flexible brake line pics?
Heck, if anything I was thinking of putting smaller tires on it so that I could fit the wheel pants.
Here's a pic of the other brake line... see why I'm looking to replace them? Not exactly the cleanest installation.

Re: Flexible brake line pics?
Wow, ask and ye shall receive! Thanks for the pictures! Now let me ask you this... looking at this pic of my own current setup, why do my calipers appear to be mounted the opposite of yours? Mine are on the front of the wheel assembly, yours are on the rear. Does it have to do with wheel pants? -Ken...
