Words can't describe how honored I am to have received the grand prize at Oshkosh this year! Most importantly, I enjoy meeting new friends and sharing a bit of history!

Great looking plane, Dillon! I especially like it that you took a "before" picture and then an "after" picture in the same tiedown spot. Nice touch. Good luck at OSH. Just curious as to why you did not paint the top of the rudder as in the original? Rudder top was not painted or...

This is a bit of a time lapse but will soon have my blog updated. Here is a sneak peek at the finished project!

Dupont veri-prime has more etch but is harder to get as smooth as comoared with the CR series product which is thinner but not near as tough. For interior pieces we use the veri prime. It is also a light color so is easier to cover with your paint color.

True, this is where pictures tell a.thousand words..
i wouldnt think that there would sufficient enough of heat in the rocker covers to.justify repainting them black.. but I could be wrong
ill keep researching. Original pictures are nice so if anyone has some please share!

Why would continental motors switch around with rocker cover colors.. ??
You are correct though.. Owners manuals are not to trusted on everything.. but they do hold some good info.
