Re: Legality of my new custom Shorty's Visors
Thanks everyone, you confirmed my beliefs that I could do this legally. I thought it was pretty neat the original visors were fully articulating. I looked at Rosen's but they cost a mint and a few hours of work to install for my airplane. Having just gutted and completely hand created a new interior...

Re: $100 Hamburger NORTH EAST (NY,NJ,PA,DE,VT,ME,CT,NH,MA,MD
Ice Skating/Food 58N Reigle Field Airport Palmyra, Pennsylvania, USA I recently put my kids in ice skating lessons about a block from Reigle airport. There is a brand new ice skating rink across a field right next to the airport. I talked to the owner of the rink and the state is supposed to be putt...

Legality of my new custom Shorty's Visors
Let a debate begin about the legality of my home made Shorty's visors for my 210, using original visor hardware. $5 and half our of time.

Re: Lake Front Fly In Lakes
Those guides are great, gotta love PA with all red but Raystown. I know of the seaplane base you speak of, and I live only like 5 minute flight away from there. I want to see if their is still a guy there that gives seaplane lessons.

Lake Front Fly In Lakes
Can anybody recommend any lakes in PA or NY area that you can fly in to? I am tinkering with the idea of having a lake house where I can fly to my front door. What are the rules on landing on lakes?

Recommendations on where to buy upper strut fairings.
Any recommendations on where to buy upper strut fairings. So far I found them for around 80$ a piece. I think I will make them out of foam and fiberglass for less...

Well it tricked me because I though a new starter would have been fine, or provided a different problem.

Recommendations for replacement alternator noise filter?
Does anyone have any recommendations on a replacement alternator noise filter? The one on my plane translates to part # S1915-1 which is $95.20. Any cheaper filters out there?

Re: Cessna 210 Starter Slow New Battery, New Starter still s
I heard from Aerotech, and they are convinced we stripped the bolt and turned the nut on the starter, by over tightening it. They said they see this all the time, but they will cover it for me anyway. What I don't understand is why I could take on and off my old starter 10 times and never over tight...

Re: Cessna 210 Starter Slow New Battery, New Starter still s
Well it gets better and I have pics to upload later. The nut they sent on the +bolt is the wrong thread. We were setup for failure. You can clearly see its the nut that came with it, from the color. The nut on our old starter is dull and greasy. I hope this isn't a hassle. We had the old starter on ...

Re: Cessna 210 Starter Slow New Battery, New Starter still s
It was a brand new battery George, I apologize for not answering that. Prop pulls through fine. Just noticed a little smoke coming out of my new starter, where the hot lead connects. I wonder if it's just the new pair and oil or if I got a bad starter? The starter will turn it over with a few turns ...

Re: Cessna 210 Starter Slow New Battery, New Starter still s
I am going to run a bunch more tests tonight and will report back later. Starter is a 12 volt starter rebuilt from AeroTech of Louisville as George recommended them. Starter drive is one of their rebuilt units too. I also have my old starter that did the same thing. This all started after we replace...
