Fuel Dipstick

Hello, Some time ago I inquired about a dipstick for the 170B model. I received an answer and it related to a Cessna 172 dipstick that was modified (cut at a certain point). I bought the dipstick from Spruce and cut it at the designated place. Low and behold, it worked and was very accurate. Now, th...

Cessna 170B Parking Brake

I am having trouble keeping my parking brake operational. I've heard, but can't find, that there is an upgrade of modification out there to remedy this problem. Does anybody know of a mod or a fix for these unreliable parking brakes?

Thanks.

Instrument Panel Tilt (degrees)

This subject is not really new, but I'm rehashing it. I have read in different places different answers as to what the tilt of the C 170B instrument panel is. I am considering buying the new R.C.Allen digital attitude indicator and they want to know the panel tilt in degrees. What is the answer to t...

Micro VG's

Greetings and Happy Holidays to all ! I'm considering installing micro vgs on my 1952 Cessna 170B. I bought it with a Bush STOL kit and have flown it for over 50 hours since picking it up. I've read in numerous places that the micro vg's increase control surface response considerably. I like that ev...

Original FAA Weight and Balance Certification

Does anybody know the FAA/Civil Air Regulation that the original Cessna 170A/B was certified under? I need to know what station all the pertinent position are (fuel, seats, etc). For instance, what station are the forward seats at? The CG charts don't show this. Maybe I'm missing something, but I we...

170B V Speeds

I am the new owner of a Cessna 170B (1952). I have been looking for a good reliable source for V Speeds for this airplane. Most sources agree within 1 MPH of so, but when it comes to Vx and Vy, there are as many answers as there are sources. The Vy is mostly agreed to be around 88 MPH, but I have se...

C 170B climb fuel burn chart ??

I have just purchased a 170B model. It's my first 170 and I would like to know (for flight planning) the fuel burn in a climb at full throttle. I know there are charts for cruise, but can't seem to find any for the climb. Are there any or is it just a WAG? Thanks in advance.

C 170B climb fuel burn chart ??

I have seen plenty of cruise charts depicting fuel burn and different RPM's, but have never seen a chart depicting fuel burn in a climb. Does anyone know if there is one? It would be helpful in predicting total fuel burn for any given flight. Thanks in advance.
