Re: I'm Tall Are There Short Seat Frames Available
All good points. That is why I stuck with my stock seat frames.

Re: I'm Tall Are There Short Seat Frames Available
As mentioned above, 206 seats fit on seat tracks that are further apart than stock 170 rails so they would require modification of the frame or the tracks themselves. I have moved on.

Re: LED Landing and Taxi Lights

Re: I'm Tall Are There Short Seat Frames Available
To update: Daniel at Sport Aircraft Seats had me send the seat cushions back and installed softer foam in them. I am back to the same head clearance I had with my stock seats. I also told him the bolsters on the rear seat kept it from folding down flat making access to the baggage compartment very d...

Re: Main Tailwheel Leaf Spring Comparison
Update. I took the old tail spring off and inspected the bushing that was in there. It looked to be in perfect shape so I reused it. I used a couple of clamps to help compress the leaves to get the new parts installed. Everything tightened up fine and it look like it should with weight on it. The ta...

Re: LED Landing and Taxi Lights
A quick update. I bought AeroLED Sunspot Landing and Taxi lights. There were not cheap. $500 for the pair but that should break even over time. GE 4509 bulbs are rated at 20 hours life span and I was leaving them on most of the time for collision avoidance. They look much brighter from a distance.

LED Landing and Taxi Lights
After reading through many, many pages here discussing landing/taxi lights, I'm left wondering if recent developments have changed owners opinions about LED lights. I have always used the GE incandescent light bulbs but since one of mine burned out I started looking at alternatives. I don't fly at n...

Re: Main Tailwheel Leaf Spring Comparison
Thank for the reply Bruce, and N2582D, Perhaps you are right and I will be able to compress the leaves with a C-clamp enough to get the bracket bolted back together. I put the pack in a vise and was able to compress it some but not all the way. Time will tell. I'll test with a C-clamp. As I was abou...

Re: Main Tailwheel Leaf Spring Comparison
I need to update my experience with Univair and tail spring fit and ask a question... I ordered a full new of tail springs (their part number U170AB) and the tailwheel bushing they say is a match (their part number U3241A-002) from Univair on November 5th, 2022 after the discussion above. No news, b...

Re: I'm Tall Are There Short Seat Frames Available
Well I'm not sure what to do now. I have flown with the new SportAircraftSeats a couple of times now. By head is hard against the headliner and it is hard to look back out the side window to see what the rudder is doing during preflight. I also get a stiff neck while flying looking under the wing fo...

Re: I'm Tall Are There Short Seat Frames Available
SportAircraftSeats .jpeg Here are a few pictures of the Sport Aircraft Seats for reference. Note the crown in the copilot seat made by the stock springs. The bolsters also may effect headroom some. One shot shows the foam in the seat bottom. The 1" thick layer is fairly firm. The thinner foam ...

Re: I'm Tall Are There Short Seat Frames Available
Thanks for all the information. I don't know why I didn't think to just search the 6324 Hangar topics for "headroom". I found a lot of good information on more than one thread. All things considered, I think I'll stay with my stock frames. The stock springs do have about an inch crown in t...

Re: Interior Refresh
I thought I'd chime in here. I had pretty much the exact same experience with the Airtex baggage compartment as Ryan did. Both the side panels and the back cover were about an inch and a half too tall. I cut them down but did not return the back cover to have the top edge refinished. You can't reall...

I'm Tall Are There Short Seat Frames Available
I'm 6'6" tall and with original seats installed I can kind of fit my hand between my head and the original headliner. With a headset on it touches the headliner lightly. My seats are shot and I am redoing the whole original interior. I wasted over 5 years trying to match the original upholstery...

Re: Tach and Generator Seal Direction
Well I got the old tach seal out. I made a special tool by grinding one side off an odd piece of hardware and set it on a 2x4 with a 1 1/8 in hole drilled in it. I made the tool catch the edge of the seal and after a few rotations it’s out. The odd part (other than someone cutting and installing the...
