I have been thinking about upgrading my '56 C172 to 180hp via Harry's STC. Here is a message I posted recently on the Cessna Owner's Organization website. --------------------- What a coincedence. I spoke to Harry at Del-Air a few days ago about this very thing. He has two STC's, one for a fixed pit...

Door latch
One of the springs on the passenger side door latch is broken. I have ordered replacement springs from Yingling and they should be here is a few days. I was wondering if this is the kind of repair I can do as the owner/operator of the plane or am I going to need to shell out money to my local mechan...

My plane got slower as it got higher??
I am a firm beleiver that there is no such thing as a stupid question. The ony way we learn things is to ask when we don't know. With that being said, here is my stupid question :) On December 17, 2003 I took a flight in my plane to celebrate the Wright Brothers first flight. I climbed my lowly Skyh...

Instrument Aircraft Platform
I am wanting to obtain my instrument raiting. I've started a few threads in the past with questions. I have one more. What do you feel is a good platform for training with regards to how the airplane is equipped? I own a 1956 C172 and am looking to do some upgrades to it. Right now she is a very VFR...

My First Angel Flight mission
Two months ago I signed on with an organization called Angel Flight. I would like to relate my first experience with flying a passenger that needed my help. Angel Flight provides free transportation to medical treatment for people who cannot afford public transportation, or who cannot tolerate it fo...

dacker; I looked at this solution before I did the NULITES. After looking at the sel-kirk glareshield and the aeroenhancements lights I don't know why I didn't go that route instead. I think I thought at the time it would be alot more expensive in the long run, to replace the glare shield I would ha...

I have the NU-LITES installed in my 172 and they work great. My only complaint is that they recess the instrument further back into the panel a little bit. My '56 C172 has an overlay over the panel so looking at the instrument at an angle and now that it's recessed a little more, can be hard to see....
