My 172 has an STC to remove the PAX door, the prior owner was a skydiver and wanted to jump from the plane. Several of his friends did a number of times. I have an STC in my paperwork for the removal..

Experience I recently had

On 8/24/03 I flew over to KGFZ (Greenfield, Iowa) to a flight breakfast and to visit their musem again. Upon landing, after I turned off the runway the pilots side tire blew out. A volunteer worker (he was a member of the sherifs reservves) helped me put the plane up on a four wheel cart thingy so I...

Mine is mounted on the yoke. I wasn't excited about that at first, but after using it that way for a couple of hours I wouldn't put it anywhere else..

It was over on the Cessna Owners Org forums I beleive. I also looked at the 295 as well but realy wated the newer technology in the circutry rather than the color. I've really enjoyed mine in the tme I've had it and could imagine getting anything else. Now, if they only had a color 196, hhhmmm.........

George; I thought I read where you were more inclined to buy another brand of GPS because the 196 was to expensive :) Looks like you made the right decision and bought the good one :)

It's interesting looking, I'll say that much :)

Wonder what my '56 C172 will look like as a "real airplane, i.e. tail wheeled"?

George; wow, what a story. People are getting to the point of just being nuts these days. Too many regs and rules that really don't seem to accomplish anything but annoy us honest folks :x

Bruce; you are absolutly right! I think the TFR's are a load of crap. It's a typical knee jerk reaction to a situation, made by people who d not really understand. Since there is a SMALL population of us that fly and are effected, most people don;t see it as a problem. I agree, lets start banning se...

I had my yokes powder coated by my company several monts ago. They look great! I had them use a textured powder coat as I did NOT want the smooth finish. With the slight texture it gives your some gripping power when your hands are sweaty :D
