Re: 75th Reunion Celebration group parking at Airventure 202
Do any of you know if it is possible to fly into Oshkosh without ADSB out? I've read the NOTAM, but did not see mention of it. I haven't flown in there since before the 2020 mandate. Thanks in advance!

Re: Gascolator Drain Valve
I have the same valve and am looking for replacement o-rings. Does anyone have any information on what o-rings this valve uses. It looks like there are two o-rings.

Re: CFI Charges
Here in southern Maryland the going rate is $25/hr. That is what the Flight School charges, therefore the rate I charge when freelancing. There is pressure on instruction rates due to the close proximity of a military flying club that charges even less.

Re: Carb Ice I think
My plane does have to live outside. I have not checked the scat tubing for moisture, but it sounds logical. Now that you mention it, I had the problem back in the spring (lots of rain), then the problem went away for most of the summer (hot and dry). The problem showed up again over the past few wee...

Re: Carb Ice I think
I have been flying a 170B for about 100 hours now, and experience carb ice on a regular basis when the temp is less than 80F and high humidity. My plane is based in very humid MD, but I have not experienced this carb ice on this regular of basis in any other type. Generally when I perform the runup,...

O 300D manual
Does anyone here know where I can find the manual for an 0-300D? I'm looking for a parts / service manual. I have searched on these forums and looked on Continental's website but didn't find it.

New Old 170B
Just bought a 53' 170B about a week ago. This is my first aircraft ownership experience, I want to give a big thanks to all on this site who assisted in the buying process. This site has been instrumental in my 170 education. The flight home from Colorado to Maryland was awesome (great weather helpe...

Re: O-300D crank
Today I heard back from the seller about the 8-bolt crank. He mentioned that in the Continental parts manual it states that for an 0300D-6-F, 8-bolt crank p/n 628124A2 is approved. It is the "-F" that makes the engine approved for the 8-bolt crank. Can anyone here confirm or deny the claim...

Re: O-300D crank
Thanks for everyone's responses. The owner sent me a copy of the 337 for the engine replacement. It covers the engine change and prop (including P/N and S/N). The engine is an O-300D with the angle starter and vacuum pump which the 337 addresses. Do I need to be concerned with finding the documentat...

O-300D crank
I am looking at purchasing a 170B that has an O-300D installed. The engine has an 8-bolt prop flange. It is my understanding that the O-300D normally has a 6-bolt prop. My question is, how can I ensure that the engine/crank combination is fully legal. The seller sent me the model # and serial # of t...

Anyone in Colorado
I am considering purchasing a 170B in Colorado. Is there anyone on the eastern range that may be familiar with the plane? If you live in the area and may be familiar with the plane, please PM me and I will fill you in on the details. Thanks in advance.
