Lowrance 2000 is the best value without a doubt. Well, at least IMHO.

I have owned about six 190-195's but kept only one for ten years, the others were for resale. It's commonly understood the 275-300 hp Jakes (R-755) are the better engines and I would agree for most people. The Continental is pretty underpowered and some parts for the 245 are hard to come by. Mine wa...

One other thing.... The alclad on the original skins was a bit thicker than on the metal you can buy today. So if it has been repaired take care with it.

Hey, at least it came to a good home :) Honest Harold, I'll take very good care of it. That hole we climbed through from La Fayette was the only one we saw for two hours 8O We had a good trip from Shreveport today. Got to Payson at 14:00 (2 hour time change benefit). A lot of bumps, some headwinds s...

Dave- I just remembered, Cessna did make one prototype in the early 1950s from a 195 called the XP-210 that was a 195 airframe with the barn door flaps, square 180-like tail, and a Continental O-470. It wasn't a bad looking airplane, I have a picture of it. That prototype might have been what convi...

Richard Not too late but then there's the pulling the prop through before start and positioning it after shutdown, tough to push around without help, and the 20:1 ratio of maintenance to flying hours most of which are FWF. And that's if it's in good condition to begin with. It's a fond memory but......

I agree with what everybody has said, but look at those FLAPS! If Cessna had put those huge barn doors on the 195 they wouldn't have needed to build the 180/185 and the world would now be full of beautiful round tailed Businessliners. :) :) :) Yep, true except: Cost of building that airframe, elipt...

I think it would be a blast to fly. And looks are in the eyes of the beholder. I wonder what the range is, cruise speed, and again I would never clip those beautiful wings.

In the NW there are a couple of turbine single otters. The look grows on you and the perforrmance is awesome.

As a former 195 owner I rather like it. After all it IS still a round engine right? There were several P&W 450hp conversions and one I know of had clipped wings. I guess it was very sensitive on landings.

The fellow across from my hangar is taking his Cherokee in for all new interior with leather. Somewhere in New Mexico. $5,000! I'm anxious to see it done. He has seen this shop's work and claims it's excellent.

Just a thought to tempt you

My front seats are just about down to the springs and upholstery, and they're getting harder and harder to tolerate on cross-countries, so it's about time for a seat rebuild (along with the rest of the interior). Has anyone rebuilt the stock front seats using any of the visco-elastic foam products ...

What's the kit# you used? Who is your PMI? In Renton I assume. I'm working with my PMI Bill Reichardt for approval on a 199-62 kit right now.

I have the prints and all. I seem to remember copying them a few years ago for someone. It cost quite a lot, like $50-100. Several are pretty tattered though.
