Re: 2022 Airventure
Slightly OT but reading the EAA news this morning focused on the violent weather that passed through Oshkosh yesterday evening. Hope our 170 gang that were there didn't sustain damage or injuries in that event. The local news in the town's storm damage wasn't as bad as further south. Does anyone hav...

Re: The Turn Back to the Airport after engine Failure
I've probably posted this event way back when. My first engine failure/crash in my 170B was a night take-off at K59 in Atchison KS. Runway 18 is 3000 feet and a slight upgrade to the middle. I had done my runup at the turn-out at the north end and did a normal (for me) 20* flaps take-off roll. Accel...

So much can be said of the two lovely people, now gone from us. They will be missed and the memories of their love for their friends will sustain us.

A blast from the past. The monument at Kitty Hawk is the background for Ed and Mary Booth's 170.

SWIPERS OF WIPERS! There was a story - - - awww nevermind~! But cameras in the crapper itself may cause a problem. Best to focus with high resolution on the exit door to see who swipes the wipes.

Most of us old aircraft mechanics give this description for helicopters - "one million spare parts flying in close formation."

Lots of bacon going to waste. The locals in Sabine Parish sell hogs caught in their traps for good money.

Re: Now THAT'S a head-wind ...
Enroute from my home field at Toledo Bend to Atchison KS, and this was before GPS, I estimated I encountered a tail wind of 40 to 50 knots! I had planned a fuel stop at Pittsburg KS. Realizing the kind of head wind I would encounter on landing, I chose to "hover taxi" to just short of the ...

You can become a member of the TIC170A and get the benefits beyond the forum We certainly are happy for another 170 being put in service but even better if the new owner becomes one of the family. WELCOME

Re: Augmentation System Boeing 737 MAX 8 WHY?
I guess I should find a different profession since I’m not skilled enough to fly people around. The discussion isn't about your level of skill but about the tendency to under estimate the "emergency activity" training that may produce less than competent cockpit crews. You may be the best...

skipping back to the horizontal stab posts. If you still need one, I have one complete and the other with all but the skins on the left half. I think they are pretty much corrosion free. The complete one had some work done around one inspection hole. It isn't in perfect shape - and is zinc chromated...
