The opinions you express are not your disfavor with only the airline industry, its frustration with every industry in the country. Its called Corporate America. In the 40's thru 70's it was a country that was united by individuals with idea's and self accomplishment. In the 80's, it changed to what ...

Cowl Flaps

Richard, I noticed your using a blanket, if you would insulate the boot cowl it would be a little warmer. And for the history buffs, it was 1776 when Capt. James Cook made his historic trip down Turnagian, after making the run up Cook Inlet (his name sake) Nice pictures... Did you get the oil leak u...

Sleeping Bag

Sometimes, metal squeaks when it is loose, I'm sure you have checked the torque on the main bolt that secure the springs to the plane and the one that secures the spring to the tailwheel assembly, and the U bolt. Another example, Squeaky wing spar bolts, need more than lube. It shouldn't squeak, if ...

I've used the Woods at 40 below and slept out side. You can search them under google, but the are expensive, and at 25 lbs ...

If nothing else it gives comfort or anxiety to those on the ground (depending who you are) that the 65 year old is going to be around for some time to come. When you impr...

Landing light required?

George- How could the landing light, which was installed at the factory be considered optional equipment? It would be a tough argument with a maintenance or the FAA guy who also would have be looking for answers. My question, if it is installed isn't it required to be airworthy and operational unles...

Landing light required?

If one should forget, the GE Landing Light 4509 (or like) is listed in the Type Certificate A-799 for the 170 as, item 304. [quote] (a few lines back) (Firstly, landing lights are not a required piece of equipment on non-commercial operations, and secondly they are all virtually identical in every w...
