Re: Wheel Landings 170

I spent the last year learning to fly my 170B. Flew with a half dozen different instructors and learned something from each. I think I have the record number of landings for this year on the ski strip here. I had 10,000 hrs helicopter no airplane time. a lot of kidding about it not hovering. I hated...

Re: Fuel level floats sunk 55 C170B

My fuel float was sticking and at annual it was pulled and found to had jumped gears so to speak and with some tinkering works fine for now. You might pull it and see what problem is. I had ordered new gauge but didn't need it.

mech fuel guages 170 B

On my 1952 170 B, the left wing root mechanical fuel gauge will move around when filling but generally just read 0. I was told they are hard to come by any suggestions? Thanks

Re: flying to AK

Wx Minn. was so bad so long I finally left driving to AK and had plane ferried up later. Really sorry as had planned the trip and looked forward to it. I have flown AK off and on since 1980 and all pilots should see it. Just don't be in rush. Wx rules.

Being a low tailwheel time owner insurance is high and I read $100,000 property only on some forums but Insurance company says $500,000 property and people.
