Drat, Alton Bay is closed. I wanted to fly up today, Saturday. But the snow storm and wind meant they were unable to keep the runway open. If the cold weather continues, maybe they can open again.

Yep, I do like the GX55. I had it installed just prior to flying from Pa to Alaska. We took along the Garmin 195 also. Can anyone use an Apollo 612B loran? You can have it and the antenna (no tray) for free. Pick it up or pay for shipping. I replaced it with the "slide in" Apollo GX55 GPS a number of years ago. I don't keep the GPS data up to date either. Interestingly, it costs well over $100 to get an up...

It's probably just differences in the particular planes, but my 1955 170B has a much better cabin heater than the 1949 170A that I owned previously.
