Re: Landing gear wedges

Thank you for the input. Whoever did the gear the last time tried to make their own wedges from angle iron and failed miserably, so I would really like to purchase the correct ones. I understand that it will be expensive but I would rather ensure that it's correct. Is there any documentation that th...

Landing gear wedges

I'm looking for a source for the 0441115 wedges and the 0541105 shims, but I'm coming up dry except for used ones. Does anyone know of a source for these parts?
Thank you,

I'm thinking it's a minor alteration also, but my IA disagrees. I do need to repair the door as the original spring setup has actually broken and cracked the door. Seems like the Blue Sky arrangement would distribute the strain and probably last longer than putting the spring back in. Thanks for all...

Blue Sky door latch

Has anyone used the Blue Sky door latch (to hold the door open). I'm thinking I could get a field approval on the Blue Sky fix. Thanks,

CFI List

So we took the plunge and are buying a 170. Trouble is that while my wife has tail dragger endorsement, I don't. Anyone know of a good tail wheel CFI in North-Central PA? Can use our AC. It will be hangered in Williamsport, but no available CFI's around that I have been able to find yet. Thanks in a...

Looking for a PreBuy in MD

Looking at a very early 170 in MD and would like someone knowledgeable to do a pre-buy inspection. Also would really appreciate any input on issues to look out for on the older 170's.
Thanks!
