I noticed the RH horizontal doing the exact same thing on my '53 when we did the first annual on it. Scrutinized it about the same as you have yours. This May I'll be doing my 35th annual on the plane. After 3,000 hrs and 35 years I've decided not to loose sleep over it!

I was paranoid about getting the wrong lengths also, so decided to remove every flexible hose on my plane, labeled them as what they were for, and sent them to Precision Hose to have them duplicated.

I had similar mag problems a while back. Mags only had 300 hours on them, sent them back for rebuild, still had problem with right mag. I noticed that if I wiggled the mag switch while doing a run up I got a slight fluctuation.... I disconnected the P-leads and did another run-up...Bingo! No problem...
