Landing a Ragwing

Hi! I am the new owner of a ragwing, and I have a few begginer questions that I am hoping to get answered from the group: - Is it okay to slip a ragwing with the flaps extended? - How many notches of flaps do you typically land with? - What speeds, power settings and flaps to you typically use on do...

Tailwheel Steering

My recently purchased ragwing has very minimal tailwheel steering when taxiing, particularly to the left. When rolling out after landing and taxiing it is usually necessary to use the brake on the left side to stay straight. During a pre-purchase annual the left brake pad was quite a bit more worn t...

I just insured my ragwing through Aviation Insurance Resources, 877 AIR-PROS. This is the second plane I have insured through them, and they have found me excellent coverage at a good price both times. They are also able to do EAA and AOPA programs. My EAA membership also got me zero deductable and ...

Okay, that makes sense. I think I have been making things more difficult than they need to be. Does 39.2 seem in the normal ballpark for a ragwing? Thanks much to all for the help! Kevin

Thanks for the info Eric. I am an association member, but am brand new. When the plane was weighed it was leveled. What I am missing is a clear picture on how to figure the arms and CG. My ragwing has stock legs with PPonk mod (I'm not sure if that mod makes any difference in their position). My wei...

Ragwing weight and balance question

I just purchased my ragwing, and it was absent a weight and balance. As part of the purchase agreement the previous owner had a new one done, but as it turns out it was really just "weighing but no balancing". In other words, I got all the wieights but no CG. I have never gone through this...

Thanks to all for the info. It sounds like there may not be an exact Cessna replacement, so I guess that means a trip to the hardware store. Since I'm not sure if the springs that are currently on there are correct, does anyone have the size, weight, etc. specs on the original springs?

Flap Springs

I am the proud new owner of a ragwing. The flaps had a reinforcing mod added to the trailing edges prior to my purchase, and now they won't stay up while on the ground. It seems like it needs new or perhaps stronger flap springs. Does anyone know where I can get replacements? Any advice is much appr...
