Like Brian, I'd like to know if you could provide any templates or pics of your front plates. Sure makes sense.

C-170A Airforms Baffle kit on a C145-2H?
Anyone ever install a C-170A Airforms Baffle kit on the C145-2H? This engine came out of a 170B, and we are installing it on our A model, and the A model baffles interfere with the Hydraulic Propeller control at the left front of the case. We will install our fixed pixed McCauley prop and leave the ...

Funny Taildragger Poem
This was handed to me by a Champ owner next door to my hangar. It may have already made the rounds, but just in case you haven't seen, it's an entertaining read.... It's Just Too Much by Dale Roberts Taildragger, taildragger, I hate your guts I have experience, license, ratings, and such But to make...

Re: Pull Starter on O300D? (moved out of MX Library)
Bingo...and to further answer the question, I ended up with a nice O300D core for a possible overhaul down the road, just looking at options for putting it in my 170A and keeping the pull starter. Plus, selling the serviceable starter adaptor helps pay for the overhaul. Also interested in possibly u...

Pull Starter on O300D? (moved out of MX Library)
Is it possible to install a pull starter on an O300D? If I’m looking at the parts manual correctly, it appears that as long as you have the correct crankshaft cluster gear installed (during rebuild), a pull starter will mate to the accessory case with no problems. Is that right?

Scott Tailwheel question
Hoping someone can provide enlightenment… I’m helping a fellow 170A owner change his tail spring pack, but realized his tailwheel assembly, which looks, smells, and acts like a Scott 3200, is different. The upper bracket assembly that attaches to the main tail spring has the same shape and features,...

Try calling Air Repair (http://airrepairinc.com/phone/index.html). It appears they have most, if not all the hardware for tail springs...

Re: New Guy question on Tailwheel Spring
Gary - thank you so much for those document links! I was relieved to find my hardware configuration in the Service Pack drawings, as it's different than any IPC. I will definitely be replacing the whole spring pack and all the hardware I can get hold of.

New Guy question on Tailwheel Spring
Hello, as of last month I'm a new C-170A owner and new TIC170A member. I'm trying to eliminate some tailwheel shimmy that occurs about half of the time. I've installed all new cups/cones/hardware/tube/tire on the wheel, but that didn't do it. Since I can't find anywhere in the logbooks that the tail...
