Re: What did you buy for your 170 today?
Today I picked up from the delivery point, a "New" to me set of vintage 1955 C-180 p/n 0741001-3 and 0741001-4 main gear for my bird. I searched quite awhile for a set and had asked a number of the menbers on this site about what they had and feedback. I will try to post a picture of the b...

Re: Shelf Assembly Baggage Screws
Thank You John. I just found some at KRN Arizona, they were the only vendor listing on Controller, however looking at their website showed no stock. I called this morning and bought the last few they had in inventory.

Axle Attachment Bolts on 180 Legs with L-19 Tow Lugs
In the next month I will be changing my 55 Lady Legs with hollow axles, to a set of reconditioned 180 legs. I have a set of solid aluminum axles I want to install, and want to use the L-19 tow lugs I have been using on the Lady Legs because they work well for winching up a grade into the hangar. If ...

Shelf Assembly Baggage Screws
When I bought the 170 it didn't have the Hat Shelf in place. I have read in the forums that some like the shelf, and some have removed it. I thought I would give one a try, and found an excellent example and want to install it and have looked at the parts manual and note the attachment screws are PK...

Re: B model cowling repair
I like the look of that. I have only applied JB Aluminum Weld in a couple of areas on the inside as a rub through barrier, and it has worked very well.

Re: LED Beacon Selection
Finally found the time to install the Sunbeacon LED and fabricated adapter plate to close the space left from the Whelen WRM-12 removal. This looks great in my opinion and is incredibly bright. Mike

Re: LED Beacon Selection
I found this on a Beech forum. This is the way I'm going , and have the Sunbeacon II and Mount on its way from Spruce. I will post a picture when it is installed. Mike

Re: LED Beacon Selection
Jim, no worries at all. I pulled the beacon yesterday and going to mess with it for a bit to see if I can bring it back to life reliably. By the end of this weekend I should have the verdict on whether it is staying, or going for sure. I will give John a call in Alaska about the lense but if yours b...

Re: LED Beacon Selection
Thanks for the suggestion Jim, that unit does look good. Whichever unit I settle on, I believe an adapter plate will be required. I was hoping a few members had pics to share of these units in place. Mike

LED Beacon Selection
My Whelen Rotating Beacon packed it in last flight. I'm going to make the jump to a LED Anti Collision Beacon and would like some feedback from users. The two I'm considering that are TSO'ed are the AeroLED Sunbeacon II and the Aveo RedBaron XP any information and pics of mounted units would be appr...

Re: What did you buy for your 170 today?
New additions are a set of Bartone Pipes and a Steve's Gascolator. The pipes look and function great, and the Gascolator is rugged and compact. Mike

Re: Bartone Exhaust
I finally had time to get the set of Bartone Pipes installed and very happy with the look and function. I used a set of stainless pipe clamps, and for the hanger I used a set of Cessna 182 Turbo pipe hangers I was able to find at a good price. I like the way the hanger has the right contour for the ...

Ghostflyer, thanks for the feedback. Do you have a pic to share and did you center the Gasolator?

Re: Gasolator Correct Drain Valve and Gasket Seals
I may have changed my mind and would like to know if anyone has a picture and feedback on installing a Steve's Gasolator SA3-00-B with mounting bracket on a 170 and relocating the Gasolator center between Bartone Pipes? Thanks Mike
