A follow-up to my own question - can you run without the spinner and backplate? I'm not smart enough to know how to read the TCDS to figure this out.

I'm looking for any leads on a spinner for a O300A 170B. The 8 bolt, bullet looking one.

Wag Aero makes them (I-949-000), but are backordered 6 weeks.

It might be a little far, but maybe John Tremper at Andover/12N? He handles a few 170's based at the field. He might be full up. It's a 1-man show.

I would also be very interested. I contacted the STC group as well to add my name and support for a core group to get the STC in process.

I went for a broader overhaul of the panel. Dual G5's and a 650, along with intercom, audio panel and the transponder. Nulites on the round gauges. It's tough to get lost with all the magenta lines and trend vectors.

All, Any seen this before: tach is bouncing high rpm, much like the indication of a cable problem. Tach needle then drops to zero. Tach still counts hours.
