Main bearings gone

Standard policy at my local overhaul shop to overhaul all new Continental cylinders before use.

Why? The standard of workmanship is shocking.

Unfortunately the only supplier listed there with "new"stock hasn't actually got any stock at all. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Has anyone fitted a modern split master switch?

The one in my aircraft is on the way out. Sometimes it works sometimes it needs a bit of encouragement to work.
