Thanks John and George for your replies. I checked out the EAA info also. I also like your idea George of using mobile home anchors. I'll do some checking around and see what I can find.

Homemade Tie Down Anchors

Does anyone know how to make or have some homemade tie down anchors? I'm trying to work out my schedule to attend OSH, and know that I need to bring tie downs. I'm not impressed with the one's that can be purchased. Have done some research and found some designs and thought maybe someone here had a ...

I'm hoping to make OSH too. Drinks are on me. I'm sure my 3 bouncer landing will make me current. On an off topic....I've flown a friends RV8 from the back seat last year....this weekend got to taxi it around just to get a feel for it...very nice. He's going to add me to his insurance so I can fly i...

No contest....I'd bet on the airline pilot. Let's see...if your FAMILY is in the back of the airliner, you want the T-Craft guy to fly it and if your FAMILY is in the T-Craft you don't want the airline pilot to fly it.......OK :?

"You only have to look at pilots and cruise pilots to know that flying in the big leagues is like any other pyramid scheme. .. Truth be told its not flying anymore, its a computer game and the computers are getting better." For those who don't know, a 'cruise pilot' is a person who has min...

"I really feel bad for the pilots at United. They work about 8 hours a week and earn over 200K a year. " Walker, if you actually believe this, your pretty naive. You must believe everything anyone tells you. I invite anyone to come with me on my next 5 day domestic. I guarantee at the end ...

"Difference is the customer doesn't see this when he sits down to fly the friendly sky's." They will, Dave...believe me, they will. The pilots just had a 26% pay cut shoved down their throats by an arbitrator...and they are LIVID! I just read that today over 400+ baggage handlers are getti...

John- I don't know if I read this, or if someone told me, but I add slight nose DOWN trim on short final. When the mains touch down, just release back pressure and this will stick the airplane on nicely. I'm a low tailwheel time pilot who has only had my plane a year now...a C170A with what I consid...

George, I wish I was as well spoken as you....because you hit the nail right on the head. We're even being told now not to have ANY water bottles in the cockpit because they are a safety hazard...flying projectile don't ya know. Only styro cups of water...so after going to the trouble of ringing the...

Hey, how about a reality check here? My employer(s) don't generally provide me with drinking water, period, let alone bottled water. As a union sheet metal worker (28 years worth) in the building construction industry, I'd be willing to bet that United's captains and probably the (senior) FO's too ...

At home, I drink tap water...maybe I'm lucky to have good tap water...I don't know. But at work, the cockpit crew drinks bottled because of the aforementioned topic of the potable water not being suitable for drinking. This is well known, and posted in the lavs...not to drink the faucet water. Unfor...

I also had this problem awhile back, and after I replaced the cap gaskets...fuel was still leaking. It turned out to be the screws around the nozzle openings needed tightening. After I checked and tightened loose ones...no more leaks.

Guys, where do you get your brake fluid? Can you get it at Auto Zone or such, or do you have to order it from Aircraft Spruce or Wicks?
