Re: Compatible wing
Richard, have you tried Dee at Copper River Airmotive for wings/parts I just saw a ad in alaskalist dot com, about him getting his sixth 170b in for parts, and remember seeing he had a couple wings for sale. I had bid on a few at salvage auctions and I think he won the bids. Maybe worth a look. Good...

Re: Another successful moose hunt thanks to the 170
I can't stop flying my 170 long enough to shine it up. So, I'm OK with the rat catagory.

The XP Mods site has a good description of the differences in gear legs. The only thing you gain with early 180 legs over the late 170 legs (lady legs) is 1.5 inches of length (they're the same steel and thickness). The next model you would gain length and wheels forward. And, the last 180/185 legs ...

I will echo Bruce (N3243) on the 8042. If you don't mind 100 mph cruise (at 2450 for me) then you will like the take off and climb performance of the 8042. It was night and day when I changed mine from the 7653. I think that most of the 145 hp 170 drivers in AK that are operating in the backcountry ...

I have put a little research in to this particular mod. And, this is what I've determined. The 180 legs I would use would be the early legs 0741001-1, 0741001-2 these are the ones that they call wheels aft (or they come straight down) I would not want any of the others (wheels forward) because this ...

From a little research I've on the subject: XP Mods is currently available. Delair also available. The Kwad stc has a new owner (D'Shannon Aviation I think) and I talked with some one at their shop and they didn't think it would be available anytime soon. And the Williams STC never could get a hold ...

Looking at the pack size and weight of the Warmlite it must not come with that fancy heater (looks like that model of heater would weight anywhere from 100 to 140lbs to much extra weight) I'll have to keep the Feathered Friends brand bag it was rated for -40F and I had it made with 2 in. of extra lo...
