Re: Your Top 10 Aviation movies of all time

I’m going to have to respectfully but strongly disagree with the previous contributors. Top Gun Maverick was amazing. Top Gun is the greatest aviation film of all time. It’s an airplane movie for people who wouldn’t otherwise like airplane movies. The soundtrack is epic. 100% agreed. The number of ...

Glad to hear you're still flying Bruce! I'm doing my best to keep your old steed N7A in fine form.

Re: Carburetor hole that shouldn't be there. Corrosion?

Thanks Bruce, that really helps. It doesn't look great but it also doesn't look like it is about to crumble or fall off. I'll pass the info along to my mechanic and hopefully he'll be satisfied with cleaning it up really well and filling the hole. If not I may need to take you up on the core. Do you...

For Use On: Continental O-300-A, O300-C, O-300-D, C-145 Supers...

Carburetor hole that shouldn't be there. Corrosion?

I am in my 1st annual after owning N7A and my A&P IA pointed this out to me. I think it looks like corrosion to my novice eyes. Has anyone seen this before? Is the best bet to replace the entire carburetor?

Re: Sun-n-Fun

I'll be there! It's a bit far for N7A in the time I have so I'm flying commercial. I'm looking forward to seeing all the classics out there and hopefully meeting fellow 170ers.

Re: Nose Bowl Replacement

It’s a shame Bruce got rid of his Rat-Plane project. I was hoping some day to see how he might make duct-tape look. Instead he’s decided to go Totally-Legal and gain his A&P. (So many changes these days.... What’s the world coming to...?) This is off subject but in case the new owner of my rece...

Re: Avionics Upgrade

Great topic. I've been pondering avionics upgrades too. Specifically adding a GNC 355 and some G5's or the Aspen E5 so I can do some IFR training. I'd love to hear from anyone that has done the Aspen E5 too. It seems like the E5 has more capability than a pair of Garmin G5s. It also keeps some symme...

Re: Aaron and other Members messaging system on the TIc170 f

Hi Doug thanks for the reminder. I think there is something else causing it to be in outbox. Maybe it is there until it is read? I was at 4/10 and your message came in ok. I replied and now the reply is in my outbox.

Re: N7A - Change of Guard

Doubtless that “E” will remain in-place as long as green paint exists on the airplane... Well let's say it'll probably be there as long as that white paint is on the tail. :) Congratulations on your new “Caretaker’s Position” of N7A. Enjoy that Tail-Number! Last I heard, FAA no longer allows ...

Re: N7A - Change of Guard

Bruce, Thanks for trusting me with N7A. I know she means a lot to you. I mean to take good care of her. I have learned a ton reading these forums over the last few months, and after a few days of being a 170 owner it's clear just how much I have to learn. Jughead has been fantastic (and patient) wit...
