prop bolt
I have the 300-d engine with 6 bolt prop/crank. I have the recomended prop bolts but find them just a little long even with one washer under the head. The ends of the bolts just touch the cowl and with vibration I worry they would chew on the cowl. Is it legal to put a second washer under the head o...

flap setting for take off one notch
In discussion re take off there several references to 0ne notch for take off. The newer 170s the first notch is 10 degrees while the older ones the first notch wil give 20 degrees, is this correct? What do you think about 20 degree of flap for regular, short field and soft field take offs ???Gary

Guys Thanks. I did review the possibility of permantly wiring the radio to give half the intensity of the display and I don't think that is the case. I guess I will have to locate the manual and go over it carefully. The unit does have a little eye on the front likely a photo detector but when cover...

landing
After a long rebuild I am hoping to get flying my 170. Having flown 150s and 172s I am concerned about all the nasty stuff I hear about tail draggers. I have checked out on a Citabria but how do you guys with 170s set up for landing. I am sure there are as many opinions as pilots but I would appreci...

Flap roller
I am looking at my inboard rear flap roller bearing and see the inboard surface where the bearing may contact , in fact has worn into the aluminum of the flap. My AME tells me cessna issued a notice that a washer should go on the inboard side of the roller to prevent this from happening. Have you he...
