Guys As You will see I am just learning about this AN bolt sizing system. The early O-300 engines with 8 bolt crank have smaller diameter bolts than the later 6 bolt crank. I am looking for info for the 6 bolt crank. The AN 8 i think is a 1/2 inch diameter and the dash 44 is 4 1/2 in length. This I ...

Today I called Spruce and they told me they are less than $2.00 each. This is either too good to be true or these aren't t...

Oil temp
I cranked up my engine for the first time and anxiously watched all the gauges. Pressure EGT and CHT all came up fine. I didn't run the engine long perhaps 2 minutes mabe a little longer but got no movement on the oil temp gauge. It is one of the infamous SCOTT gauges. I must admit the actual oil pa...

Where do you guys direct the blast tubes that are mounted on the back of the large rear engine baffle. In the IPC the left one seems to be pointed at the oil screen area on the bottom of the accessory pad. On the right as I have the transverse mounted started ( WHICH ACTUALLY STARTED THE ENGINE FOR ...

The issue is I have the D engine with the 6 bolt crank. I have a nice bullet spinner but when I located the front and rear bulkheads from an old style 172 they were just a little small for the spinner. Since spruce wants big bucks for these bulkheads and spinners and I could live with the skull cap ...
