Tailwheel chain tension
I replaced the leaf spring on my 170B, with the Univair kit. Before removing the old springs, we noticed one chain was tense and the other more slack, and both had the same amount of links 17. The old leafs were so worn out , now with the new ones the chains are super tight. I think at least an extr...

Re: Horizontal Stabilizer Boots
I am installing the Cessna part, which I think if it changed in-flight handling, it would have never been FAA certified.
Probably because of this certification is why I have to pay $350 for two pieces of rubber.

Small holes on the leading edge of horizontal
Cessna 170B 1953.
I see small holes in the leading edge of the horizontal stab, I think there is 4 of them.
What are those small holes made for?
If installing an abrasion boot , they will all be covered.

Re: Horizontal Stabilizer Boots
You can get the generic flat material several places. The only source I'm aware of for the extruded boots is Textron. Of course there may be vendor NOS sources as well. Just bought a pair for a 180K, $171 each. S1938-3-68.00 picture.jpg S1938-3-68.00.jpg Question, do they come in this shape or you ...

How different is to fly a tailwheel airplane?
I forgot to mention in the video is that the Cessna 170 the pilot needs to lead every turn with rudder, because of adverse yaw, which does not happen in the 182 and specially CJ6 Nanchang I fly.

Re: Extended baggage and baggage mounted battery
I am in the same boat, e mailed the install instructions of the Airglas extended baggage to my mechanic to see if it could be modify and make it a minor alteration.
The Airglas floor has a doubler, I assume to be able to withstand weight, that is the key part.
I post here whatever he says.

Re: Extended baggage compartment with aft battery
Thanks doesnt look like there is one.
Airglas is the only one that might work with a minor alteration.
