3200 Scotts Tail holds the break to the left but not the right. Help.
Hello all, I’m trying to solve and troubleshoot this problem with my tail wheel. I can get it to steer left and break Left into free casting mode. But, I can’t get it to steer to the right without the use of break and power. I have a video of the problem, I’d like to show you, but the file is too bi...

Re: Field Approval, Flap Stiffeners for the 170A
Regarding “going to the FAA”, I used to be employed by the FAA, not as an airworthiness inspector, but for a time in a supervisory role, so I have some experience in how these inquiries are handled. If you have experience and expertise to perform repairs, as you describe, then I hope you are able t...

Re: Field Approval, Flap Stiffeners for the 170A
I don’t completely “buy” the McFarlane response, but it doesn’t matter what I think about it since it’s Their Product…They get to say what it’s for. Re: Field Approval, Flap Stiffeners for the 170A
Thank you for your insight. I am dealing with cracks that have circumnavigated around the rivets on the inboard hinges of both flaps. So, I am working on getting my metal prepped for repaint next year. The shop can repair the dents but reskinning controls is bit out of their wheel house. I am still ...

Field Approval, Flap Stiffeners for the 170A
Hello everyone, I am researching a flap skin repair for my Cessna 170 A and I came across flap stiffeners from McFarlane. I reached out to them for an explanation of why stiffeners were approved for the B, but not the A. They said, “With this stiffener the issue is mostly legal instead of mechanical...

Which AFM? Rev A or Original?
Hey everyone, I am looking for help in a topic about which AFM to reference. I own a 195O Cessna 170A with the STC Continental 0300-C model. It has a McCauley 1C172EM7653 prop and my ultimate goal is to make adjustments to my electronics international CGR-30P engine monitor and more specifically my ...
