Missed the one about the turbo. In 35 years of flying I have never flown a turbocharged piston. ha! how about that.

Re: Care's FAA Question
Looks like records has been down for weeks. Sometimes there’s a banner at the top of the page saying so.

Yeah, walked away, took a break. Came back to it in a flow state and boom, done, easy. Scared myself a little!

Re: C170B Fuel Selector Valve
Replaced mine with McFarlane last year. Tremendous pain the rear to remove and reinstall. Then I hit my stride and trying one more time installed it in about 90 seconds. Wish I could remember what I did!

Re: Mixture/Prop/Throttle replacement for 180hp 170B
If you pull the old ones just measure and get equal length replacments from McFarlane and you're good to go. The loop in the prop cable is a service loop, rather than cutting it down. Sometimes it's easier to do the loop.

Is this new behavior? You getting full travel on the throttle linkage at the carb? What’s fuel flow at full throttle? Manifold pressure?

Horizontal stab oil canning
Doing the annual. Mechanic checking the tail and when you grab the RH horizontal and try and move it the top skin under the vertical oil cans. Borescoped the whole tail, nothing loose, no cracks, no smoking rivets. I wonder if it’s an artifact of how that skin was riveted on slightly loose that you ...

Re: Beringer Brakes?
I went down this rabbit hole last year. Bottom line, don't bother trying. Just get double pucks, STC from airframes alaska available. I love Beringer, bought a set for my Lancair and it's a great product. I would love a set of red wheels for the 170, and the weight reduction, and the amazing pedal f...

Re: modifying 175 fuel tank pickups
Any info on this? Did you complete it?
I thought I read somewhere of not just moving the pickup but adding one to reduce unusable fuel, I can't find it any more. If anyone has info please let me know. I have 175 wings on my 170B
