Re: Sensenich’s Ground-Adjustable Props
Bumping this thread to see if anyone has taken any step towards putting a ground-adjustable prop on a 170, with FAA approval. Thinking of buying a 170B with a view to doing an O-360 + ground adjustable conversion. I'm aware that financially the logical thing to do is buy an aircraft with the O-360 a...

170 ski instruction?
This is a long shot, but does anyone give ski instruction in a 170?
It would have to be in their plane, I live where there isn't enough snow for the skis to be worthwhile.

Re: Higher oil temps with Phillips XC20W50 ?
I would be much more suspicious of your new oil filter adapter than the oil. I wonder if something isn't flowing right, and that's preventing oil from flowing through the filter (/cooler, if you have one).

That press release is from 2016. Those tanks are now sold by Griggs:

Could someone post a picture of this installed on an aircraft in the factory location?

Re: Loss of control w/electronic attitude indicators
This report has been doing the rounds for a while. It does a poor job of highlighting the actual error, which is: The Garmin GI 275 MFI is an electric, solid state, highly configurable upgrade for many traditional round-gauge instruments, such as ADIs and HSIs, which contain mechanically driven gyro...

Re: Generator questions
Lots of great info, thanks. Sounds like upgrading to all-LEDs means the 25 A generator (which I believe is stock on B models) is plenty adequate, but the 35 A upgrade would be required for pitot heat. Minor battery discharge during taxi doesn't worry me, the battery is designed to handle that. And i...

Generator questions
Hello, The 170 is the first model I've been interested in which has a generator. I've been able to answer most of my questions by searching on the forums here, but I have a few more questions. 1. Do generators cause voltage spikes during engine start and shutdown, as alternators can? 2. Does a highe...

Re: Seattle area 170s
Not looking to buy at the moment, just curious. My girlfriend and I own a plane but we're interested in a taildragger, partly just because they're fun and cool, partly for some camping (Johnson Creek kinda thing -- not serious backcountry).

Hello,
Any 170 owners in the Seattle / western Washington area who'd be interested in giving someone a demo flight?
