Re: Overhaul time
I used Aviation Engines in Centreville, AL. about 14 years ago. They are conveniently located on the Bibb County airport (0A8) if you need to go back for some fine tuning or whatever. They used ECI cylinders and put on the oil filter adapter. They provided pick up and delivery for me here in North M...

Re: One Fuel Stop or Two?
I have a story very similar to Ghostflyer's but it was a trip to the beach, beer and a pickle jar.

missing pilot
My friend, Ray Broadbent, took off from Searcy, Ar.(KSRC) Monday afternoon in route to Elk City, Ok (KELK) in a Cherokee N113WS. He is missing and the search area is in rough terrain in southeastern Oklahoma. Your prays for his safe rescue are appreciated. http://5newsonline.com/2013/10/22/heber-spr...

Texas Hill Country flying
I have been flying into Smithville (84R) a few times the summer. I have been here the week and have taking Redbird up the dollar gas promotion a couple of times. I have been flying around a little but hope to find some more interesting location that perhaps are owned privately by 170 members. Maybe ...

Re: Cheap gas in Texas.....
I have been in there twice this week and they are very friendly. The wait can be long but obviously worth it. Due to the overwhelming response the price of one dollar a gallon will end Oct. 15. I fly into Smithville often to be with my wife who is working oil leases in the Bastrop area. I have been ...

Re: Endurance Flight
This record stood for a quarter of a century. I worked and Fred Key at his FBO back in the 60's and 70's. The Keys had a lot to do with my love for aviation. I think the times and technology perhaps made their feat a more challenging one. http://www.dot.state.mn.us/aero/aved/museum/aviation_firsts/m...

Re: $100 Hamburger MID WEST (OH,KY,IL,IN,MI,WI,WV)
You will get NO hamburger here: And be prepared to spend more than $100. I stopped in LOU, Bowfield, Louisville, KY over the weekend. Right there on the field is this very nice french restaurant in the old 1929 terminal building. What a treat and I can not wait to have the opportunity to do it again...

Re: Camping with your plane
Steve's list is very well thought out. I have been able to find a lot of my camping gear at Sam's and Wal-Mart. I have a small, lightweight table that is made of wooden slats and it rolls up and is stored in a bag. I have used the horizontal stabilizer as a table before but not since I've painted th...

Now, this is a DOG! Meet 'Giant George' the 7ft-long blue great dane who could be the world's tallest dog. Standing at nearly 43 inches tall from paw to shoulder, and weighing a staggering 245lbs, could this be the world's new tallest dog? Pictured here in the parks of Tuscon , Arizona , George, a f...
