Re: ANR Headset Kits

I have two Sigtronics headsets that I installed the Headsets Inc kits in. I run them on ship's power. I like them pretty well. On trips when I might spend 6 to 10 hours in the airplane, I believe that I am less tired at the end of the day. One negative comment: My wife bought a Bose headset a couple...

Re: Prop balancing problems !?

We pulled the prop during the first annual after I bought the 170.
I never imagined that a prop could be that difficult to remove. If had obviously been waaaaaaaaay too long since it was off.

And, since I switched to a skull cap spinner, there is no rear spinner bulkhead to worry about

Re: What have you done for your 170 today?

Put a quart of oil in her, installed the cover over the cowl opening in front of the oil pan, make her start at 35 F, and took her out for an hour of beautiful smooth flying.
Then I hung a 60 watt 130 volt troublelight under the cowl and put the insulated engine and prop cover on.

Seems surprising to me.
I have two venturies on the right side, and they work fine (regulator setting is 5 inches).

Re: Heat Duct Dimensions

I have a new old stock heat duct.
I bought it a year ago for $120, but have decided not to do that project.
You can buy it if you want ($60 + shipping). Buy high, sell low 8O
Or I will make some measurements for you.

Re: EGT Split left vs. right

Robert: I have EGT probes on all six cylinders. My experience is that #2 is usually hottest, and is also usually the first to peak when leaning, though on some days it is #5. The induction system is certainly not the same for all six cylinders. (I believe that the induction system design is not the ...

Not to mention Garmin is still selling 296's which use the same body. I think the 396/496 will still be around for a while.
296, 396, 495, and 496 all show up in the "Discontinued" section of Garmin's website.........
However, they will no doubt keep working for a long time.
