Re: How Many GA Hours in 2016?

Just did the math and we flew Sweet Caroline 46 hours in 2016. Almost all that time was loaded up with me, the wife, and 2 boys and going to visit friends and family. We use our 170 as the family hauler. My parents live 510nm away in NC, so we did two trips there, and a trip to ATL. Also flew out to...

Re: 170 News Article on Slips/Skids

Jughead, I just wanted to say thanks for all your articles that you have put out. As a professional aviator myself I still enjoy reading and learning all I can. If you you ever have a long overnight in south Flordia, look me up and we will go buzz around some. I am 30 mins north of PBI, and hour 15 ...

Re: Pushrod kit 0-300A

Can we get a update on this kit? I am looking into getting it installed also and was wondering if you are happy with the results. How many shop hours does it take to install?? Thanks for the update.

Re: 170 performance

I have a 54b with a o 300a on it, with a Horton stall kit, and 175 wings (10 extra gallons of fuel). I am based at 64fa in South Fl and routinely fly full tanks, me, my wife, 2 boys (3 1/2, and 21 months) with everything you can squeeze in the aircraft including the kitchen sink on hot summer days. ...

Re: Door latch return spring for 170B

Mine broke last month and the door would not close at all. After some research I emailed Lee Chavez at apache2@mlod.com and he made me 2. $65 for two. It worked great. He is on the Cessna 120/40 forum. He is in CA so it takes a few days to get in the mail depending on your location. Hope this helps.

Re: Annual Inspection questions???

Just a follow up to this thread. I decided to go ahead and get a overhauled carb due to the weeping gaskets and replace the throttle. Also getting a new concord battery. As for the air box, after talking with my mechanic it turned out the bushings are just a little worn and there is no danger of any...

Annual Inspection questions???

Hello all, its that time a year again for 49C's annual. I want to start by saying that I am not throwing my mechanic under the bus and I don't want the discussion to go down that road. I have listed several items below that my mechanic found and has told be are things that I MIGHT need to address. N...

Re: This is why I own my 170!

We flew from Stuart FL to Marathon FL for a couple stress free days. We went the long way down the coast and around Miami and followed the keys the rest of the way. This is a great example of why I own a 170. We stayed at Lime Tree Bay Resort. All around a great trip!!!

Re: IFR Capable 170's

Thanks, I am really liking the HSI, those boogers are expensive to buy these days. I like the layout a lot. It's good to see what other guys have done.

Re: IFR Capable 170's

I would love to see a picture of your panel hilltop. I am toying with upgrading my panel to IFR with one of those new IDF 440 or maybe a used garmin 430w. My 170 is straight VFR and would love to see your layout. I fly big planes for a living and don't really want to use the 170 for hard IFR. But li...

Re: Panel legality question

Just so you can see my setup I posted this pic. It's the best one I have right now. The iPad is suction mounted to the window on the right side. It's not covering up any instrument in my plane and easy to reach over in flight and operate. The control yoke has full range of travel with no interferenc...
