If you are interested I might be able to help you with the tanks. Look in the directory and give me a call if y...

I have also seen ragwings with blisters for hanlon wilson exhaust. I am almost sure this has nothing to do with the Lycoming conversions although it looks about the same. I too would like to convert to the later style exhaust but dont want the blisters. Would be nice if the company that makes the ne...

I did most of my primary training in my 170 without any problems Most of my initial work was on the grass and with well qualified instructors. The insurance was about $ 1300 a year 7 years ago. My vote would be to use a 170 for primary training but to use grass and take plenty of time with a qualifi...

Regaurding your fuel pump problem I went through the same thing a while back. You will need a check valve. The system is designed to gravity feed if your pump fails so you need to by-pass the pump with a line and checkvalve INSTALLED IN THE PROPER DIRECTION. If you put the valve in backward you may ...

You might check to see that the tail wheel main spring has not fatigued and bent. The piviot pin of the caster should be vertical. If it is angled foward you actually have to lift the tail to turn. I have the same angle you refer to and it dose not seem to be problem. If you are new to tail wheels y...

John Pertaining to your oil consuption problem you might try running the oil level between 6 and 7 quarts. My engine which is in good condition with a recent overhaul likes to blow out the top quart so I never put it in. Bill K.

ragwing trim colors.

Does anyone have an old color picture or brochure which would show the colors of the wing numbers, tail number and the cessna 170 logo on the tail of a 48 170. I am in the process of recovering the wings and doing a paint job on my bird and trying to make it as original as possible. Bill K.
