Re: Rosen Sun Visors
And talking with Russ in March, he wants a set of Rosens in his 170. So must be worth it for at least one long time 170 owner. Russ is a qualified "squinter".

Re: Rosen Sun Visors
Russel Smoot/Plane Maintenance is installing mine if he gets a opening soon, or at annual. After listening to Russ's install description, did not sound like a complicated operation for him. I did not memorize the procedure, as my tools and I decided use our time and talents making money for 100LL. R...

Looking forward to my new Rosens also. If the day woulda been rainy, visors might not've crossed my mind. And the trade show 10% discount and free shipping here leaves fuel money to go try 'em out.

Re: Iphone/Touch/Ipad - what software and hardware
Please keep us informed. I fly relatives >21 often, and they relate more to Google maps/satellite photos rather than sectionals or USGS maps. I bought an iPad last month would like to know which in-flight tracking app uses downloaded satellite or Gamin type terrain maps. I keep a 196 for those momen...

Re: My engine needs overhaul
If you install BL's sighting or a separator, can you compare oil missing with oil recovered? Not a worthwhile reason for installing a separator other than curious money burning a hole in your pocket. Russ Smoot has fixed all oil leaking gaskets over the past couple annuals. Not only keeping the engi...

Re: Anybody missing winter yet??????
Where is "here". I'd like to visit for the pleasant temperatures, but did not find it in the airport codes list. Truthfully, I don't want to leave here, spring is warming up nicely and the daylight hours are past the perfect duration - longer than 13 hours. Flying has been excellent with t...

You must be very proud Miles.
I, and guessing Richard, can only hope our munchkins reach that degree.

Impressive cockpit.
I thought modern airliners had an amazing amount of bewildering buttons.
Computers in today's planes have reduced the button/switch/gauge quantity to half? A third?

I understand that curiosity. Even when using a map or GPS, I enjoy the track forward method to compare and "visualize" my surroundings against the map. Similar to, but different than, spatial orientation.

Disregarding all else, those're good sales photos for the durability of old planes.

HAARP is only there to track the irregular flight pattern if a plane flies into one of those clouds.

Re: Fixed Pitch Prop for 180hp 170B
The fellow that parked next to me at Merrill this summer, Jaime mumble-mumble, has a 170 with 180 hp and a fixed-pitch. I haven't seen him since returning to town this month. He is a member. An old question of his (which follows) perked my interest, but I haven't talked to him lately to learn his de...

Re: 2450 GW increase + 210 HP
Wow. Thank you for the info. What a coincidence. I just received info for his 180 hp upgrade on Jan 18. I asked him for specifics on who supplies what, who installs what, and general costs. Dave seems to be an honest fellow doing good work for justifiable prices. I worked at Eielson again this summe...
