What fuel tank is this?
I am in the act of replacing the seals on my fuel tank. Completed my right one no problem. I still have a small amount of leakage around the vented fuel cap. I put a new gasket in and still a slight amount. Removed the very old thin nylon bushing that was between the gasket and cap and this slowed d...

Re: Arrg. More Snow in the NE
:D You all need to quit your complaining. This Pacific Northwest guy would give anything to be shoveling snow, sweeping wings are anything else associated with winter. Instead I get to "enjoy" beautiful Hell Rio, I mean Del Rio, Mexico, I mean TX. Where we went from 72 degrees to snow in 1...

I used a 5/8" plug from my local hardware store. Home Depot and several local stores all carried them. To ensure a tight fit, either bend the tabs out slightly or run a piece of masking tape around the taps to increase the tension just enough.

Texas Compass Rose
Can anyone tell me what airports in SW or W Texas have Compass Roses available for swinging a compass? I know you can swing one without a rose, but I prefer to use one, plus it gives me another excuse to fly to a new airport. Just don't tell my wife I'm purposely looking for lame excuses to fly even...

Re: Hangar Broken Into
Mike,
I wouldn't worry about USAA treating you poorly or raising your rates. 18 years and a few claims myself, plus several friends with them and we have always been extremely happy with them. It's unfortunate that it sounds like Blue4 has not experienced the same great service from them.

Re: Life Is Good, 170 style
This thread is probably the most accurate, honest thread on the entire site. When you see the smiles on our kid's faces, the time and money we put into our airplanes just doesn't matter. This is what it is all about!

Re: Taylor Tx Fly-In, 23 Jan
W This wasn't on the way to Taylor, but at on of my buddies place at Ft Clark Springs, Tx, 35 miles east of Del Rio. We did talk about having one of our fly-in destinations at Ft Clark though, so therefore it is an official Partially Sunny (no-snow) winter day picture from the Taylor Fly-In. Enjoy J...

Re: Taylor Tx Fly-In, 23 Jan
Thanks to everyone for their great hospitality today. It was so nice to put faces to the names. About the tailwind home, NOPE! 6500' halfway home GS was down to 69KTS, 4500' bought me about 5KTS for another 30 minutes. The last 40 minutes was 65KTS. I purposely avoided all roads so I wouldn't see th...

Re: Taylor Tx Fly-In, 23 Jan
What a pleasant suprise to wake up this morning and see clear skies in Del Rio. Even better yet, the TAFs have been updated and show a much better picture in the T74 area. Work says if they need me to fly an instructional sortie today they will call by 9am. I will be sitting in the airplane awaiting...

Taylor Tx Fly-In, 23 Jan
Wondering how many are planning to make the fly-in and delicious BBQ at Taylor (T74) tomorrow :?: The forecast calls for some low ceilings and fog in the area, so everyone be careful. I'm sure there will still be BBQ at 1PM if you need to delay your arrival. I'm hoping I don't have to fly the T-38 t...
