This year while it was in for annual I called Airframes Alaska just to get acquainted and talk about the best size for the 170. I...

Re: Photo Album
You mean it isn't supposed to?
It was already a 100 mph airplane with the climb prop so no speed loss noticed.
The big tires are very user friendly.

At the bottom of the ramp on the main dock at Friday Harbor the seafood shop will cook fresh crab for you and also has lots of other goodies.
You can rent sea kayaks nearby to paddle around the harbor or to surrounding islands as the waters are fairly protected from wind and waves.

Re: What did you buy for your 170 today?
Took the good advise from this forum and ordered the Brown's aircraft window seals. This should keep my back seat passenger a little warmer as the windows have been letting in quite a bit of air flow. Also got a 170 screw kit, a couple gas cap gaskets and a couple valve cover gaskets. All set to do ...

Re: best palce to buy Cleveland wheels and brakes (kit 199-
Got mine from Wentworth. Took some cleaning up, repacking the wheel bearings and painting on the calipers but otherwise good to go.
About $600 less than the cost of new ones.

My single pucks / 8.50 x 6 combination had proven less than adequate when attempting to taxi in strong cross winds.

Re: Do I need two radios?
Having 2 radios is awfully handy when flying in and out of class B, C and D air space - being able to stay tuned on one while planning ahead and getting set up for the next. And anytime you are travelling together with other aircraft. I do a lot of flying with 1 or 2 other planes and it would be ver...
