Re: Does anyone have an EI FP5L fuel computer?
I talked to EI. Apparently there is no way to add partial gallons...So if you have 10 gallons of fuel and you add 10.5, your only option is to program either 20, or 21. This leaves up to a half gallon error in one fueling. Do this a few times and you could be multiple gallons off. Sometimes I'll go ...

Re: Tailwheel shimmy dampener
My baby bush-wheel has a pretty nasty shimmy since new. My old gar aero tail-wheel and glider tire (pre-curser to the baby bush-wheel) was the same. Both were used with brand new leaf springs to eliminate the castor angle variable. I’ve tried to stop using my tailwheel for anything but taxiing. I al...

Re: Does anyone have an EI FP5L fuel computer?
I think the answer you're looking for is on page 10 of this manual ? Thanks for the help. Yep, this is the exact process I use per the manual...Right down to the picture shown in the manual where it is only whole numbers. Even if you watch the videos from EI on fuel programming, it's always in whol...

Does anyone have an EI FP5L fuel computer?
If so, can you tell me if there is anyway to program partial gallons? For example, if you have 10.7 gallons remaining, and you add 10.1 gallons, how do you program it to 20.8? Manuals and googles have left me still unable..So I'm stuck trying to hit the perfect squeeze at the gas pump and not oversh...

Replacement map light switch
Is someone aware of a new replacement for part number 0713029 for my 170b? It would be great to have something that fits the existing hole(s) in the door post. I’m tempted to expand the hole to round and throw in a simple toggle switch..unless there is a known replacement that’s not a 60 year old pi...

Re: My T3 tailwheel is installed
Definitely can buy into justifying the weight gain for a CG correction.
Nothing derogatory meant from my side. -all in good fun and open discussion. I look forward to more pireps on the tail spring as the user base increases.

Re: My T3 tailwheel is installed
Hey! Ha! What happened to this post from Tailwind: "I'm all about the weight as much as the next guy and I wish I was one of those guys who doesn't deserve to have a 170 because he has too much money and too may mods, because I'd have a 185. In any case.... I'm happy with it, thanks for the usu...

Re: New products for windscreens
A lot of the old time, and not so old time AK pilots I used to know all used lemon pledge exclusively. I did that for a while and now use Plexus and a brand new yellow costco microfiber every time. The microfiber gets rotated to other shop tasks after that and eventually ends up in the wash to be re...

Re: My T3 tailwheel is installed
I really enjoy seeing modern solutions for old planes, and absolutely appreciate the folks that are going through the costs and work to get them approved. However I got to see one of these on a 170b recently. The rudder had a small "bite" crushed in where the new tail spring assembly appea...

Roll Call: 170 base airport elevation?
I'm wondering what elevation everyone is based at. Mostly I'm interested in what the qty of planes vs base altitude curve looks like. I'm guessing that it will be strongly favoring lower elevations. Not sure enough folks will reply for good data, but curious nonetheless.

Wing strut tie down bolt hole dims
Does anyone know this off-hand? I’m looking for the diameter of the hole in the wing strut that accepts the eye bolt.
Thanks!
Thanks!
