Re: 48 170 windows
thanks again for the insight. I finally ordered a set from Great Lakes so I will see how it goes. All of my windows were busted when I got the plane, Ive spent the last month or so cleaning the fuselage for paint, and to an earlier post I saw am replacing all the wiring with the stuff Mr Horn recomm...

48 170 windows
I have question please, Ive been looking for new windows and windscreen for my 48 170. Everything I have found so far shows either A or B models only. Will either of these work for me or is there somewhere that has those parts for a 48? thank you for the help.

Re: 1948 170
Hey thank you the answer, Ive actually gotten a few parts from Alaska for mine. My wings are all metal, I sent photos of the inside of these from the inspection holes to a parts guy I've met who confirmed these are metabolized fabric wings. Any chance you may post a picture of your panel? I'll check...

1948 170
good morning, I am progressing well on my 48 project and wanted to ask a few questions. In looking for some parts I noticed there aren’t many options for wingtips in a 48 compared to an A or B model. Are there there after market choices for these, I was hoping to add landing lights there to replace ...

Re: Recommended Modifications/Repairs for 170 Owners
Where can I get more information on the inspection hole in item 7, and also information on how to and where to get the handle in item9?
Thanks for the help.

Re: 1948 170
I have a new question if anyone has experience. I need to remove my prop which has been on the engine a long time. (25 years) Removed all the bolts, wobbled it, and it is still tight and isn't budging, any tips to get it loose?

Re: 1948 170
Gang, Ive read the information you suggested relative to the differences between the 170 models. Am I correct that a 48' 170 would have 3 fuel cells? I ask because my metalized wings have 2 fuel tanks so would that have been a modification made when the wings were covered with metal? Getting to chat...

Re: 1948 170
here are some panel pics, understand a lot of interior was removed to get the plane apart for transport. IT sat outside for 25 years. /Users/amandanoe/Pictures/Photos Library.photoslibrary/resources/derivatives/8/8F27A428-D857-4F22-B7AB-5F67D4907133_1_105_c.jpeg /Users/amandanoe/Pictures/Photos Libr...

Re: 1948 170
Wow on the answers! Thanks so much to everyone. Basically my plane is in pretty decent shape, Cables were shot, windows brittle, and interior cloth is junk as well. I disassembled the plane in North Carolina and drove it home to FL on a modified pontoon boat trailer. As far as my experience I owned ...

1948 170
Hi, I hope this is the correct place to ask some questions. I have been away from flying of a number of years and recently purchased a 1948 170 that has been sitting for 25+ years. My intention is to restore the plane into flying condition and to return to flying myself. That being said my questions...
