I've got my cowling off for repairs due to a broken latch. I can I order the Dip Davis latches? Looked in all the catalogs and Google but no joy.

I saw one that had just been installed on a 172. It looks compact and doesnt take up much room under the seat. I plan on takeing mine in as soon as I get it back together. Doing a little winter work on it.

The Levinworth strip is an 800 ft ultralight strip. Might be a bit dicey in a 170 this time of year.

I picked up some ice last week flying over water. I didnt notice my carb temp, but saw that my EGT was way low. Pulled carb heat, heard the ice go through and EGT came back up. That ice does a good job of leaning.
