Just realized this thread is 16 years old!
If not already covered, I believe the accessory case and oil sump are different. C145 has three bolts accessory case to sump while the O-300 has 5. This was discussed recently in another thread specifically about the sump. Magnesium vs aluminum.

Field Approved 60 Amp Alternator
In looking through (and reading) the 337’s for my 170B I found I have a FAA Field Approved 337 for the alternator on my airplane. It is for a Cessna system apparently off a 150 according to the 337. If the association thinks this would be useful to have, let me know where to mail a copy.

Re: Presidential tars.
This has been a concern from Hawaii to Martha’s Vineyard ever since these Presidential TFRs were invented. In the past most of these guys had two homes to go to or went on vacation in different places. Our current President appears to only go to two places and they are very close to each other. I on...

Are your templates something a sheet metal guy could work from to make a one off piece?

Rudder pedal covers
52 170B. Are the sheet metal aluminum covers that go over the rudder pedals available anywhere? A quick Google search turned up nothing
Thanks

Re: Sand ingestion
Agree completely with the Blackstone write up
Also, do you make carb heat cold immediately after landing? Obviously carb heat air is un filtered. But more likely one of the other causes listed by Blackstone

Re: Accident Report re: electronic gyro install error?
There was a long discussion about this accident on another forum months ago centering on skepticism that enough oil could come out of that spot in the period of time described to cause the failure. No question that the gasket was missing. But? I had a Comanche 250 years ago where the mechanical fuel...

Re: Oil Sump Corrosion
Gary, the X30013 manual also states that the C125 sumps do Not have the Baffle in the intakes… but C145/O300 does. George I’ve posted pictures of the sump I have. Where should the baffles be that are in the C145 sump vs the C125 sump? The picture I posted doesn’t show that area but I can take a loo...

Re: Oil Sump Corrosion
Pictures of my spare sump. It weighs 5lbs 14oz on the kitchen food scale. It is a Three bolt sump. It says 6638 AU on the back. It came with a case for a C145-2 s/n 4322-9-2 as far as I can make out. No guarantee the case and the sump were ever a pair but I was told they were. I don’t have the acces...

Re: Oil Sump Corrosion
I’ve got what is said to be a C145 sump in my hangar. Three bolts. I’ll take pictures tomorrow. Can’t get out there today.

Interesting but would be premature to jump to conclusions before all the facts are known about the qualifications of the two occupants. Other than the obvious.

Re: 0-300-B engine
Thanks Bruce.
Does that mean the case halves are the same for the 0-300 and C-145? I came into a C-145 case and sump in good shape. If the case is the same, that makes it more useful
