Give me about three weeks, and I'll get you pictures of the entire engine bay.
I'm stuck in Arizona and my partner doesn't have a Camera.
But what I have is a TSIO-360-E on what looks like a Cessna 172XP engine mount that has been modified.

Re: Fastest 170 in the fleet!
Jaime, I know because I HAVE THE FASTEST 170 having indicated over 180 in level flight with reduced power. :!: :) (and being my plane is maroon, a close shade to red, it only stands to reason right George? :D :D ) ) Thats pretty good. The fastest I've gotten mine was 160kts true at 20,000 with the ...

Re: Beware maintenance done by Glen Forsyth
If I was at Casa Grande, I'd take my stuff to Tony Frost.
He did the covering on an Interstate Cadet that he restored.
Good mechanic, Upstanding no-nonsense guy.

Williams-Gateway or Phoenix Gateway.
Best burger I've ever had.
In and out in 15 minutes. Cost $10. Left food behind.

Re: Proud New Owner of N3JX
Fuel burn is between 12.7 to 14.2gph mattering if the turbo is off or on. Being experimental/exhibition I do have limitations: If I am to attend an airshow, I have to fax a letter to the FAA once a year. I can fly it 300 miles from my home base with no notification. If I am to do a cross country of ...

Re: Proud New Owner
Its turbo normalized. The airplane is built in this way: 170B door back, 175 door up, 172XP door forward, with a Turbo Skymaster engine under the cowling. Here is what I know: The builder of the aircraft was Johnny Williams out of San Angelo Tx. He owns an aircraft salvage operation. The purpose of ...

Re: Proud New Owner
N3JX is experimental/exhibition/proof of concept.
Flying it from Columbus Oh to Philadelphia it did burn 42 gallons of fuel. At low altitude its really really slow but as soon as I put the turbo on it picks up.

Re: light Sport Changes
I heard that one of the changes is an increase in weight up to 1500lbs, but there would be a limitation to 10,000ft.

Hey Everybody, I just bought my 170B yesterday, N3JX. With its Turbo Continental IO-360A I can scoot along at 150Kts at altitude, Climb at 1400fpm, decend at 1500fpm, and stay up for almost 5 hours. Other mods it came with are 180 Gear with P.Ponk boxes, 175 Wings, Javelin Tank, Factory float kit an...
