The International Cessna 170 Association

As you know, Joe, Spruce, Wag-Aero, etc all offer an airbox that has no official approval and relies upon the owner and/or his inspector to find an approval basis for it. That is a poor method but one to which some owners have successfully resorted. When my 172C airbox was found to be in shambles…....

Has any company that anyone knows of produced an approved carb heat box that is worthy? I need to at least replace the butterfly shaft and bearings, but would like to replace the whole box if I could find a good one. TIA

Joe, It was great meeting you and all the other 170 owners during WAAAM (Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum) Fly-In at Hood River. I have flown into Hood River before, the first time on my Long Solo cross country working on my Power Rating back in 1997. I have never flown there before ...

I see that they recommend using a "wedge" shim to create positive camber, anyone know where you can get these? Mine could use an adjustment towards positive. I replace the main spring every so often but it seems like all of them could use a little more angle towards positive.
