Re: Rudder trim tab
I agree, check all the rigging, but to answer your question, bend it left to force the rudder right.

No problem:) I went through this when I fabricated that horizontal bulkhead on mine.

Re: Rear Horizontal Bulkhead
Why would you fab and install something that was never there? I went through this a couple years ago and came to the conclusion that Cessna simply failed to provide a serial number break for items 21 and 22. If you look at Figure 65A you can understand why a doubler might be installed there. If you ...

You shouldn't need them if you have regular tailwheel steering.

Re: Weighing the Aircraft
Took the words right out of my mouth. Unusable fuel is a given weight in the TCDS, not something to be arbitrarily determined in the field. As far as weighing, the most accurate method, in the absence of published procedures, is to remove all the fuel you possibly can, then add unusable. This errs o...

Re: Landing gear repair
The least invasive way that I have found is to remove the forward floorboards, remove the gearbox floorboard to the flap tunnel, remove the rivets from the lower flange of the forward gearbox bulkhead. This should allow you to flex the forward bulkhead enough to remove the outboard castings. You wil...

Re: Firewall corrosion
It kind of depends on what you plan to do with it. If you intend to coat the firewall with zinc chromate based epoxy primer, then any acceptable method of corrosion removal would provably be fine. If you want to try to preserve the aluminized finish, I would try a small area by hand with gray Scotch...

Re: Gross Weight
It says it is scheduled for a 2500 gross weight. Not sure what that means. I believe this airplane has been advertised for sale by Thomas Anderson of XP Mods/TLGW. Perhaps he is developing an STC? My airplanes are scheduled for lots of awesome mods in my mind. Not sure if they will ever happen:)

Re: Insight on panel
I have a comm antenna in the same location on my '52. It looks similar. My panel is mostly original from what I can tell. It has sat untouched since 1977. I have been working around it while I decide what to do with it. I am tempted to leave it in it's current condition and overhaul what instruments...

They do not come out the top without major disassembly or without damaging bulkhead flanges.

Doesn't really matter since Donaldson recommends replacement after 3 years or 500 hrs.

You can use electrical contact cleaner and gently blow it dry with low pressure air.
