Ken I just watched a you tube video of Reklaw 2020 and got to see your beautiful airplane taking off. Looks like everyone had a great time.

I hope to arrive on Friday morning, and leave Saturday afternoon. Short window, but better than nothing.

Re: 2020 Airventure cancelled!

I’ll have to put 8/8 on our calendar! Your gaggle is welcome at C77 as well. We continue to work on the Jenny, while maintaining social distancing of course. Hope you and Karen are doing well, and hopefully our paths shall cross this summer.

Re: Rear seat seat belts

Richard, That’s basically what I have now, and I like it. BAS said they can’t duplicate that because their supplier, AmSafe, doesn’t use the 3 bar slide adjuster on my style application. It’s very curious, and confusing. The only thing I can surmise is they look at that adjustment style as a week po...

Rear seat seat belts

I am ordering replacement belts for the rear seats on my ‘53 B model. I’m ordering from BAS to match the shoulder harnesses in the front seats. I’ve sent photos of my existing belt arrangement to BAS, and they said they can’t duplicate my exact installation. I am curious, what do others, who have BA...

Pre purchase advice in PHX area

Trying to find a mechanic/shop in the Phoenix, AZ area to provide a pre purchase/annual inspection on a C170A. Would appreciate a recommendation. I am researching this for a friend, he is considering buying N9955A sn 19315. I don’t think the current owner is a member of the association, wondering if...

Re: Heading South

Bruce has moved on. He is no longer a member of the TIC170A, and doesn’t participate in our forums. Although I am pleased to report he and his wife, June, are doing well. He is a neighbor of mine at C77, Poplar Grove, Illinois, and I see him often. He sold his 170, and his 140. He still owns a cub, ...

Re: 2019 Cessna 170 Convention

Well, Katie and I were the lucky last departure from Newton. We waved goodbye, as Steve G, and then Miles and Karen took off and headed east. What a great week! We would like to thank all the folks at EWK airport, all of those folks did a great job during the week, they accomadated all of our reques...

Re: Upgrading a Grimes rotating beacon

Got my beacon reinstalled today. It is a Grimes G-7740, and I had Tom Leatherwood at Avlite aviation in Paso Robles, CA repair the unit. He diagnosed my problem as a couple of worn brushes in the motor. He repaired, cleaned, and shipped it back for $180.00. It functions perfectly now, and it seems m...

Re: Upgrading a Grimes rotating beacon

I just sent my rotating beacon out to Avlite Aviation in Paso Robles,CA. They can usually rebuild or repair these units. Tom Leatherwood is who I talked to. I haven't gotten my esimate yet. I will let you know how my experience turns out. I know it will be pretty pricey, but I love my rotating beaco...
